Covergirl has great products for reasonable prices. I would go as far as to say they can compete with high-end cosmetic products in some areas – mascara being one of them. Each of their mascaras claims to do something very specific for your lashes, and for the most part, I must say, each one holds true to the claims they make. I generally use Covergirl’s Lashblast Volume Booster mascara. I decided to go out on a limb and try one of their newer items – Supersize Fibers Mascara. I am not a huge fan of applying fibers then layering it with mascara, but since this product claims to have combined the two, I gave it a shot.
As always, Covergirl delivered. With only a few sweeps across my lashes, I saw at least twice the amount of length. My lashes also had a very beautiful curve to them. The trick listed on the back of the packaging was to roll the brush as you apply the mascara to your lashes. It was a very good tip;my lashes looked incredible after following that advice.
While I was very impressed with the length that this mascara provided, I will say that there was little to no addition to volume. If you have thick lashes to begin with, that would be no problem, but if you are someone who counts on your mascara to provide the thick appearance to your lashes, this probably isn’t the one you want; however, if you wanted to pair this mascara with a volume enhancing one, it would be truly beautiful.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed using this mascara. It lengthens and separates your lashes with fibers, but it does not feel too thick or create clumps. The fibers don’t create a strange rubbery feeling like they often do with other brands. They also do not make the lashes curl so much that they hit your brow bones and leave black residue. Again, if you are looking for volume, this one would not be first on the list. If it is length you want, then this would be an amazing choice. Overall, I give it two thumbs up.
